Health & Fitness

Hello all! Hope you are having one great Tuesday! Warm weather is just around the corner. That means we'll be putting those winter pants in the back of the closet and breaking into the shorts! Here's an exercise to make sure your legs look good for spring! Start out doing 2 sets of 30 reps at least once a day. Let me know what you think about this exercise!

Monday's Ramblings

Hello everyone! Hope your Monday is going well! We live in such a fast paced world. We have fast food, fast internet access, even fast check out lanes in Walmart. Our schedules are crammed and we barely have time to fit in sleep. We have texting to make conversations faster. We have FaceTime to make visiting people faster. To sum all that up...everything is getting faster and faster. When we get sucked in to the fast paced world, we miss things. Lots of things. So I want to encourage you today to take life a bit slower. Cut some activities out of your schedule and instead go outside for a walk or run. Instead of texting friends and family all the time, invite them over for dinner or meet up for coffee. When the weather warms up for spring, spend some time outside. Or maybe curl up on the couch with that novel you've been wanting to read. Embrace the time you've been given! Take life a bit slower and I think you'll find yourself a bit happier. Hello everyone! Hope you are having a great Saturday! Have you ever had one of those desperate cravings for chocolate? Here's a quick and easy fix: Microwave-Chocolate Mug Cake. I made this the other day and was very pleased with the results! Try it for yourself! Let me know what you think :)

Chocolate Mug Cake

4 tablespoons all purpose flour
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg – beaten
3 tablespoons skim milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1. Into a small bowl add: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, egg, milk, and vegetable oil. Mix to combine.
2. Pour mixture into a regular sized coffee mug. 
3. Microwave on high for one minute and 30 seconds. If needed {if cake batter is still gooey}, microwave on high for up to an additional 30 seconds.
*Makes one mug-cake

Hello lovelies! Hope you are having a great Tuesday! So here lately I have been working on building up my core! One of the best ways to build up your core is to do...planks! Ah yes, the treacherous planks :)  Now, I'm no super-crazy fit person, so I can't just do a plank for like five minutes or whatever. Here are a few tips I've been using to hold my planks longer. Monday's Ramblings

Hello all! Hope your monday is going well! It's so good to be back in the blogging world :) So today I wanted to talk about not following the crowd. It seems like everyone these days always gives everything they have to make sure they look cool or at least normal. People will hide their true talents or interests just to avoid embarrassment. Personally, I think this is so overrated. I used to be so consumed with what others thought of me, until it got to the point where I honestly just stopped caring. Who cares what others think of me anyways? I always tell myself, if people think I'm weird, that's their problem. When we are concerned with our image, we become self-absorbed. And I know being self absorbed is a major problem. It leads to depression, eating disorders, and all kinds of other terrible things because we are not satisfied with ourselves. You were born an original, my dears! Don't you dare die a copy of everyone else because you were afraid of how people saw you! Live your life without fear, and I promise, it will be worth it.
